A Milestone in Kempt's Short History

Earlier this week, we were fortunate enough to collaborate with the top luxury retailer in Ireland. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Brown Thomas, let me give you a little bit of insight.

Founded in 1848, Brown Thomas is a luxury department store located on Grafton Street in Dublin. It’s an institution that symbolises luxury and quality. A ‘go-to’ destination for the ultimate treat, or the fail-safe destination for someone who needs to buy a gift for a very special occasion. It has stores in Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Limerick, and is part of the group who owns Selfridges and De Bijenkorf in Amsterdam.

It's home to the world’s most luxurious brands – Dior, Hermes and Chanel to name but a few. All have prominent positions within the store. The displays and merchandising are legendary in Dublin and a long-standing tradition in December for many families is to see the Brown Thomas windows. I’ve personally admired the shop for years.

I’ve shopped in the store for many years too. My first pair of Gucci loafers were bought here. I always remember the words of advice from the assistant when I asked their opinion of whether to choose the black or the brown. They replied, ‘why don’t you get both?’ I thought that was brilliant.

I never imagined that such a store would show an interest in our brand. I am of course so proud of Kempt, but it was an unbelievable surprise and honour to launch Kempt in Brown Thomas this week, sitting alongside some of the world’s most luxurious brands.

We often get asked if we have a store in Dublin. It’s always very flattering to be asked by someone planning a trip to Dublin if there is somewhere they can see Kempt. From this week, I will be very proud to tell them to go and check us out in Brown Thomas Dublin.
